Nirmala
In Mahant Dayal Singh ji’s exhaustive
four-part history of the Nirmala Samparday entitled Nirmal
Panth Darshan, on page 245 of the fourth part he describes
a sub-samparda (termed an up-sampardai) of the Nirmalas called
‘Sampardai Adhan Shahi Nirmalay’.

Nirmalas at the holy city of Ujjain, home to the Kumbh Mela
Sant Gyani Balwant Singh ji, a
Nirmala himself, has researched this upsamparday and in his
text Nirmal Panth Bodh he states that this is a complete sub-group
unto itself, and not simply an honorary extension to include
Sewapanthi vidvans. He names two Nirmalas who refer to themselves
as Adhanshahi Nirmalay (Mahant Sampooran Singh and Pandit
Utham Singh ji).

He goes on to narrate the same process mentioned
above for Sewapanthis and Nirmalas; Sewapanthis donning the
clothes of and studying with Nirmalas. Examples he identifies
include:
Pandit Narayan Singh ji,
Sant Prataap Singh ji Mitha Tivana Vale,
Pandit Utam Singh ji Bulay Vale
Another important link between the two sampardas
is the fact that the 7th Sri Mahant of the Sewapanthi samparda,
Bhai Sahai Ram ji became Baba Sahai Singh ji at the hands
of Baba Bhaag Singh Kurivalia, a Nirmala Baba, at an amrit
sanchar in Lahore. From Baba Sahai Singh, there is a direct
parampra to the legendary nishkam kirtani Baba Shaam Singh
(see Sewapanthi Mahapurush section).
